Mr. Wolf

| Jewelry with a story |
Alice & Chains Jewelry was started for a love of change, challenge, learning, and a desire to not follow and be the same. This project brought all of that, beginning with our first experience in 3D scanning. As pictured below, this project began with a wall mounted wolf bust.Â
We gently removed the wolf from his daily duties posted on the wall and took him for a field trip to a 3D scanner. Upon scanning him we were able to manipulate the file, reducing the wolf down to an appropriate size for a lapel pin as well as hollow out the back to reduce the amount of materials used.Â
Then we moved onto to printing the new, smaller version of Mr. Wolf.Â
After approval by the client, Mr. Wolf moved into having a mold made and producing the first wax version that would go in for casting.Â
After his first casting, Mr. Wolf received an addition post to allow him to now hold his post on the lapels.Â
Then Mr. Wolf underwent a bit of cosmetic assistance - an application of antiquing, to make him appear patinaed - jewelry speak for looking as though a piece has wisdom and age beyond its years.Â
Above is a side by side comparison made for the client to finally approve the antiquing - just in case they found the shininess of high-polishing more attractive.Â
As you can see in the below image - Mr. Wolf is striking, fierce, bold, and completely at home on the lapel. Mr. Wolf plans on expanding his resume to include money clips, cufflinks, and maybe a belt buckle!
